Man with assault rifle robs Burger King

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County Sheriff deputies are searching for a robber who held up a fast food restaurant with an assault rifle.

It happened Friday night just after 10:00pm at the Burger King at Curry Ford Road and Goldenrod Road, in Orlando, deputies said.

No injuries were reported.

In the video, an employee is seen running away from the door as a single masked suspect came into the restaurant.

The robber is seen carrying what appears to be some sort of assault rifle. Deputies described it as an M-16-style assault rifle.

He demanded cash and the cashier filled up a Burger King to go bag with cash, deputies said.

Deputies aren't saying how much money he got away with.

An employee tells Local 6 four employees and one customer were inside at the time of the robbery.

According to that employee, the robber ordered the worker filling the bag with money to hurry up before he left with the cash.

Deputies say witnesses did not see which direction the gunman ran.

Aesun Lee works at a convenience store right next to the Burger King. She says the boldness of the robber and size of his weapon makes her nervous.

"Nobody knows what's gonna happen to us. We are scared. Everybody has to watch out for each other," she said.

If you have any information about the crime call the Orange County Sheriff's Office or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
