Murder suspects, woman killed in crash

2 others in critical condition after Orlando crash

ORLANDO, Fla. – Two men wanted for homicide and an 18-year-old woman were killed Thursday night after leading Orlando police on a chase and crashing into a canal, authorities said.

Jason Carr Jr., 18, Frank Whack, 18, both of Orlando, and Keyonda Fordum, 18, of Titusville, were killed in the crash, which occurred around 7:10 p.m. on Princeton Street near Mercy Drive, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Tyreshall Pond, 18, and Von Darius Whitlock, 18, both of Orlando, were injured in the crash and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.  Pond was listed in critical condition, and Whitlock suffered serious injuries, the FHP said.

None of the five occupants was wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

Just after 7 p.m., officers tried to pull over a vehicle linked to a homicide earlier this week. The driver took off, sped west on Princeton Road, lost control, veered off the road, then crossed the median through oncoming traffic before crashing and flipping into the canal.

"John Young Avenue and Princeton is quite a good ways from here, and for them to cross this median and to cross two more lanes of traffic and land in a canal upside down -- there was some speed involved," said OPD Sgt. Vince Ogburn.

Police said Carr and Whack were wanted in the death of a street preacher on South Westmoreland Drive early Tuesday.

After the crash, Local 6 cameras caught one of the survivors of the crash sitting handcuffed beside a police cruiser before being hauled off on a stretcher.

Frantic relatives rushed to the scene near Princeton Road and Mercy Drive asking if their loved ones survived.

"One of them is my daughter. I'm just trying to find out if she's alright," said one woman, as other relatives took one look at the troubling crime scene and broke down in tears.
