ORLANDO, Fla. – For more than a year, we've been telling you about the struggles of homeless children in Central Florida.

But they just got something new to make life a little more fun.

On Saturday, Local 6 got our first look at a new playground that just opened earlier this week at the Coalition For The Homeless on Central Avenue in Orlando.

The company, Camden Properties, donated all the equipment, including slides, swings, and monkey bars, then put it together.

Parents say the playground is so special because it gives their kids, who have so little right now, something they can enjoy every single day.

"It means my kids being happy, smiling. And through these hard times, they can feel comfortable and be able to play with each other," says Jessica Esterby, a local mother.

The Coalition says that workers at Camden Properties spent three days putting the new playground together.
