New report shows OPD officer had sex with woman in custody

Officer Roderick Johnson accused of sexual battery

ORLANDO, Fla. – A newly released Internal Affairs report shows an Orlando police officer lied about having sex with a woman in custody and tried to cover up the incident.

Officer Roderick Johnson was arrested after a 22-year-old woman said they had sex while she was being taken to jail. She now claims the officer got her pregnant, according to investigators.

According to the report, detectives said Johnson lied about several things, including giving the woman $40 after sex, taking her to a police substation prior to going to jail and buying her a cigar.

Detectives said Johnson's excuses crumbled and they believe the woman's story that she was raped while handcuffed by the 20-year veteran of the Orlando police force.

Investigators said Johnson arrested the woman at a gas station for driving a stolen jeep. That's when Johnson started flirting, and then took her to a substation where they had sex on a desk. The convicted prostitute said she agreed to consensual sex because she feared Johnson would add more charges to her arrest. Johnson finally took her to jail and the unidentified woman came forward days later when she thought she was given a sexually transmitted disease.

Local 6 has learned "she recently found out she was pregnant, and believes she may have conceived during the sexual encounter," according to the report.

Johnson denied everything, but the report said he was "deceptive and dishonest" and he "lied repeatedly" to his own superiors. It went on to say "Officer Johnson's conduct makes the Department the subject of public ridicule and lowers it in public esteem."

Before Internal Affairs could get Johnson to sign the report, he decided to retire.

He's still facing those criminal charges and still denies having sex with the woman.
