ORLANDO, Fla. – Fast-food workers in Central Florida say they are planning the first-ever walkout in Orlando as they call for higher wages.
Workers from McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell and other restaurants will walk out of work Thursday, according to organizers. The group will meet at the Walgreens at 8050 International Drive and stage a protest and strike. As of 1 p.m., however, there was no visible protest seen outside the Walgreens or a nearby McDonald's.

Organizers said workers participating in Thursday's strike will call for $15 per hour wages and the ability to form a union without consequences from their bosses.
U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson and local clergy members will join the workers to support the strike, organizers said.
Similar strikes are planned across the United States, including in Miami, Minneapolis, Philadelphia and Sacramento.
