Teen shot after meeting man for sex, Orange County deputies say

Shooting victim runs to nearby gas station to call for help

ORLANDO, Fla. – An 18-year-old man who met another man online and agreed to meet for sex was shot early Monday during their encounter, according to Orange County deputies.

Dasmine Bell was shot in the incident, which occurred around 5:20 a.m.  near a SunTrust bank ATM next to a shopping center near Pine Hills Road and Colonial Drive.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, Bell agreed to meet the other man in the parking lot at 5025 West Colonial Drive.

The other man arrived, pulled out a gun and demanded that Bell withdraw money from the ATM, deputies said.

Bell ran away but was shot in the lower body, according to deputies.  Bell continued running to a nearby Chevron gas station and called 911, deputies said.

Bell was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The assailant was described as about 6 feet 2 inches tall with an average build.  He was wearing a black T-shirt and red gym shorts.

No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing.
