Hotel features classic, retro feel

ORLANDO, Fla. – Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort opened its doors to guests on Monday.

The property is the fourth on-site hotel at Universal Orlando Resort and evokes the classic, retro feel of iconic beach resorts from the 1950s and '60s.

Notable amenities at the hotel include a 10-lane bowling alley, Jack LaLanne fitness studio, and a dive tower water slide that plunges into a 10,000 sq. ft. pool.

Universal said rates for the family suites begin at $174 per-night, and can run as low as $134 per night depending on the length of stay.

Rates for standard guest rooms, which will be available in the summer, begin at $119 per night, and can run as low as $93 per night.

The second phase of the hotel opens this summer with standard rooms. There will be 1,800 total rooms and Universal's first lazy river.
