Vandals sought in Baldwin Park tire slashings

Rash of vandalism leaves residents on edge

ORLANDO, Fla. – Police are investigating at least seven vandalisms in the Baldwin Park, most of which are tire slashings, but so far no one has been arrested.

Neighbors reported the incidents to police Sunday morning. Besides slashed tires, officers are also looking into reports of missing Christmas decorations and destroyed plants.

Local 6 was in the neighborhood when officers followed a trail of blood near an SUV with slashed tires to the home of a man who lives nearby. They questioned the man, but did not take him into custody. Officers say the man had a cut on his hand.

People whose cars were hit have already replaced the flat tires, and fortunately some only had to refill them with air.

Randy Keller woke up to find three of his tires slashed. He says it's happened before in the neighborhood and wants to make sure the person behind it is caught.

"I hope they catch and prosecute them. I mean we had a couple tires stolen off cars here before. People came out and they were on blocks and then last week tires were slashed too," he said.
