Police arrest 1 in fatal Ocoee home invasion on perjury charges

Police say Antione McLare lied to police about investigation

OCOEE, Fla. – Orlando police have arrested one man on Friday in connection to a fatal home invasion shooting in west Orange County.

Police said Antione McLare, a close friend of suspect in Alex Zaldivar's death, Bessman Okafor,lied to law enforcement. McLare has been arrested and charged with perjury and providing false information to law enforcement.

Police will hold a news conference Friday at 6 p.m. to discuss the case.

Zaldivar, 19, was killed in the shootings at the home on Bernadino Drive south of Orlando Avenue in Ocoee back in September. Police also said Zaldivar and the two other victims, Remington Campos, 23, and Brienna Campos, 20; were victims of another home invasion in May. It's not clear if the home invasions were related.

Police said in the previous incident, a weapon was recovered but no one was hurt. Arrests were made in the case, which was believed to be drug-related, and police said one of the suspects is out of jail on bond.
