TITUSVILLE, Fla. - Georgia authorities arrested a South Carolina man wanted for armed robbery in Titusville, as well as a second suspect and two people who were in a car with items stolen during the robbery.
Yubran Marwalt Alverez-Vazquez, 20 and from South Carolina, was wanted for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and grand theft for crimes in Brevard County, Florida Today reports.
At about 7:30 p.m., investigators from the Brevard County Sheriff's Office alerted deputies in Camden County, Georgia to lookout for a vehicle used in an armed robbery in Titusville. They believed Alverez-Vazquez was driving a silver Ford Fusion.
Around 8:15 p.m., Georgia deputies stopped the suspect car after they saw it on Interstate-95. Driving the Fusion was Jaromy Jazmin Floriano, 20, also from South Carolina. Hidden under a towel, she had a loaded 12-gauge shotgun by the driver's seat, a small amount of marijuana and her infant child.
When Brevard investigators arrived at the scene they said that Floriano was a suspect in the Titusville armed robbery. She was arrested and her child was turned over to the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services.
Police learned that the Fusion was owned by Alverez-Vazquez, but Floriano denied knowing where he was.
At about 9:10 p.m., Georgia deputies responded to suspicious activity at plaza off Interstate-95 near Woodbine. They stopped a white Dodge Durango that was using a license plate registered to a black Audi. Savannah residents Brittany Lynn Shuman, 25, and Matthew Emmanuel Vazquez, 22, were inside, along with items deputies believed were stolen in the Titusville armed robbery and a small amount of marijuana.
Shuman and Vazquez told a Georgia deputy that Alverez-Vazquez was headed north on I-95 in a gold Lexus.
At about 9:20 p.m., Georgia deputies stopped the Lexus near the Glynn-Camden county line about 220 miles from Brevard. The driver, Alverez-Vazquez, was arrested Tuesday night in Camden County, Ga. The Lexus he was driving was stolen from Orange County, Fla., according to a release.
All four suspects are in custody at the Camden County Jail, facing Georgia charges. Shuman is charged with possession of drug-related objects. Floriano is charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon. Vazquez is charged with bringing stolen property into the state and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Alverez-Vazquez is charged with being a fugitive from justice and theft by bringing stolen property into the state.
