VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - Crews will be back out in Volusia County on Tuesday to continue the search for the remains of a Holly Hill woman reported missing in Feb. 2011.
On Monday, Michael Annicchiarico, entered a plea to lessen his charge in the case of missing woman Mandy Ciehanoski to second-degree murder and tampering with evidence, according to a press release from the Office of the State Attorney.
Annicchiarico, who was Ciehanoski's boyfriend, was originally arrested and prosecuted for first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Ciehanoski's family agreed to the plea in exchange for Annicchiarico's cooperation in finding Mandy's body, which is of utmost importance to them, according to authorities.
If her body is found, Annicchiarico could serve 15-50 years in Florida State Prison. If her body is not found, he could serve 25 years to life in prison, according to the news release from the state attorney's office..
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office continues their search in the woods west of Ormond Beach. They searched for hours on Monday but haven't found anything.
The search is expected to start back up at 8 a.m.
