POINCIANA, Fla. – A strong odor coming from a house in Osceola County led to the arrest of two and the seizure of about 30 pounds of marijuana on Friday.

Osceola County Sheriff's deputies said they arrested Misael Delgado-Sanchez, 33, and Gort Mailenis, 25, and charged them with marijuana trafficking and cannabis manufacturing after an investigation that started when they smelled marijuana from outside a residence at 600 Regency Way in Poinciana.

When deputies knocked on the door, Sanchez let them in the house and told them he was growing a few marijuana plants inside.

Deputies said they located about 217 plants, some as tall as 5 feet, in the house.

Both Sanchez and his girlfriend, Mailenis, were booked into the Osceola County Jail.

The Osceola County Investigative Bureau dismantled the grow house and took the marijuana as evidence.
