ORLANDO,Fla. – The Brevard County sheriff's "Game Over" task force is crediting Local 6's investigation into an alleged online dating conman as an asset that helped lead to the Wednesday night arrest of 48-year-old Scott Gregory Campbell, aka The Playboy Conman.
In a news release, the Sheriff's Office stated that the broadcast of the "investigative story" led to a" number of victims and witnesses" to come forward, "which broadened the scope of the investigation."

According to the statement, members of the "Game Over " task force and the Flagler County Sheriff's Office acted on a tip and arrested Campbell at a home in Flagler County.
That was the 899th arrest executed by the unit since it was established in 2007.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Campbell was wanted in reference to an active arrest warrant relative to grand larceny in Osceola County.
That case is just one of what is believed to be as many as 23 incidents of grand larceny and deception in a scheme investigators say dates back to 2003.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Campbell, of Kissimmee, is accused of "conning women out of large amounts of money by convincing them to invest in his company's TV Talent Show."
Campbell remains in the Flagler County Jail on $500,000 bond.
It is not clear if he will fight extradition to Osceola County.
Local 6 has developed information that suggests Campbell was asking his past online "girlfriends" for $50,000 two weeks before he was arrested.
One source familiar with the case says the bond for the larceny arrest warrant had been set and Campbell knew it.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey stated, "The Game Over task force is a proven success in removing crime predators from our community."
