Teacher arrested for child porn released from jail

Court documents reveal he had photo taken in classroom

SANFORD, Fla. – A Sanford Middle School teacher arrested on child porn charges walked out of jail Tuesday night after posting bond.

66-year-old James Stevens was arrested Monday at his home in DeBary.

Newly released court documents give graphic details about the images investigators say they found on his laptop computer. Investigators say he had one photo of a student's legs they believe was taken inside a classroom.

Stevens also told them he used Photoshop to put sexually explicit pictures of children on a background of his classroom.

Stevens told investigators he had been watching child pornography "for years."

He was released from the Volusia County jail after posting a $200,000 bond. Stevens is facing 20 counts of child porn possession.

He's been suspended from his job at the school and could be fired by the school board at a meeting next month.
