The woman, who was shot in the head and hand, told Orange County sheriff's deputies that the man asked her for a ride and she told him he had to wait a few minutes.

She then said she was lying in her bed when the man came into her room and fired a rifle at her two or three times, according to the sheriff's office.

The man was arrested on attempted murder charges, but the woman said she doesn't want to press charges because he has dementia and needs medical attention.
