Man, 78, struck by motorcyclist, killed

FHP investigates fatal Orange County crash

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 78-year-old man was struck by a motorcycle and killed while crossing a street Thursday night in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The man, whose name has not been released, was crossing Goldenrod Road near Delphia Street around 8:10 p.m. when he walked into the direct path of the motorcycle, the FHP said.

The victim was taken to Florida Hospital East, where he was pronounced dead, according to the FHP.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 31-year-old Orlando man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation.
