A sergeant pulled up to the apartment complex and saw that the Chrysler, driven by 20-year-old Keymond Kicks, had stopped.

Police said Kicks then backed up and accelerated forward, ramming the police vehicle head on. The officer was not injured as a result of the crash.

Kicks then took off from the scene and a pursuit occurred, according to police. An officer saw Kicks run into a house, located at 160 Kingston Avenue.

A perimeter was set up and police said officers went into the house and apprehended Kicks after a 15 minute negotiation.

The Chrysler was found at 140 Kingston Avenue with a firearm and suspected crack cocaine inside, police said.

Kicks is being charged with aggravated battery on a LEO along with other charges. Police said Kicks also had a warrant for trafficking in cocaine.
