Man accused of stealing cash, copper from Palm Bay plumbing business

PALM BAY, Fla. – A Palm Bay man is accused of stealing cash, copper and equipment from a local plumbing business, according to the Palm Bay Police Department.

Brandon Michael Kern, 31, used a ladder on Sunday to get over the barbed wire surrounding First Quality Plumbing, police said.

Once he was inside, Kern moved the surveillance cameras toward the wall and stole $5,500 worth of tools and equipment, $500 in cash and 100 pounds of copper plumbing fittings, according to a news release.

The business owner called police Monday morning when he realized what had happened.

Detectives recovered all the stolen property except for the cash, police said. Kern is charged with commercial burglary, grand theft, criminal mischief and dealing in stolen property.
