WEST MELBOURNE, Fla. – Police are investigating a robbery in Melbourne that occurred early Saturday morning.

The manager of Advance America Cash Advance was approached by a man at 8:30 a.m. as she was opening the store for business, police said. The store is at 2265 West New Haven Ave. in West Melbourne.
The man implied that he had a gun and followed the woman inside the store demanding cash, according to a news release from West Melbourne police.
The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, and there were no reported injuries. He is believed to be driving a late 1990s or early 2000s Ford Crown Victoria.
