A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of holding a knife to his live-in girlfriend's throat and chasing his neighbor with a sword during a domestic dispute that ended in a police chase.
Jeremy Bryant was arrested Sunday night in Winter Garden on charges of burglary to an occupied dwelling, fleeing and eluding, aggravated battery, kidnapping and attempted murder.
According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the incident began around 10 p.m. at a home in the 400 block of West Story Road.
Deputies said a woman ran to a neighbor's house while Bryant chased her. Bryant broke the neighbor's car windows, throwing a propane tank through one of them, deputies said.
Bryant then kicked in the door to the neighbor's home, beating his own girlfriend and the neighbor, according to deputies. Bryant chased the neighbor with a sword before forcing his live-in girlfriend into a car while holding a knife to her throat, deputies said.
Orange County sheriff's deputies arrived at the home as Bryant was leaving and a pursuit began.
The girlfriend jumped out of the car as it slowed, and Bryant bailed out near South Lakeview Avenue and West Cypress Street, deputies said.
K-9 units found Bryant hiding, and he was arrested. He was taken to a hospital for treatment after being bitten by a K-9, deputies said.
The girlfriend and neighbor suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
