Man arrested on DUI charge, blew 4 times more than legal limit, Marion deputies say

Marion County man also faces charges of cocaine possession

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A Marion County man was arrested on Monday on charges of driving under the influence after deputies say he was driving so erratically he nearly sideswiped other cars.

German Vazquez was pulled over by a Marion County Sheriff's Office deputy around 6 p.m. Monday, after witnesses reported erratic driving on U.S. 27.

"I noticed that the vehicle straddled and crossed the center line several times," the deputy said in a media release. He also said the Vazquez rapidly jerked the car from left to right.

Vazquez was reported to have "reeked of alcohol" during the traffic stop, and admitted to having at least six beers. Vazquez was arrested, and the deputy found a small bag of cocaine in Vazquez's wallet during the search.

Vazquez was taken to jail, where he blew a .305 percent blood-alcohol level, deputies said.

According to police, he faces charges of possession of cocaine, driving under the influence and operating a vehicle without a valid license.
