KISSIMMEE, Fla. – An Osceola county community is on alert after a 16-year-old says a man pulled up to her in his car and asked her for sex.
The girl said it happened as she was walking with her brother Friday morning near Carroll Street and Central Avenue in Kissimmee.
Only Local 6 spoke to the girl's mother, Evelyn. She didn't want us to use her last name, but said she got a frantic call from her daughter right after it happened.
"She said some man followed her and whipped out his thing, asking if she wanted to ride with him," Evelyn said.
Deputies said the girl was walking with her 5-year old-brother when a man in a two-door, white Honda approached them from a side street. Deputies said the man circled back three times, trying to convince her to get in the car.
"He came up to her and asked her if she needed a ride. She said no and told her brother to run," Evelyn said. "I'm upset, I'm really upset. It bothers me because I care about my kids every day and it's worse because it's close to home."
The girl and her brother ran to the Sunshine State Elite Academy and told an adult what happened.
Tahina Concepcion lives in the area and said it's happened before.
"Our kids can't walk to school now because a pervert wants to be nasty?" Concepcion told Local 6. "Its twice on the same road, on Carroll. Last week they were in a green car, now this week a white car."
But deputies said a second incident near the intersection hasn't been reported.
The teen was unable to complete a composite sketch, but said the man was Hispanic and heavyset. The mother of the girl also told Local 6 the man had a gold tooth.
Monday's incident happened within a quarter-mile of three other incidents last fall, where men exposed themselves to girls. So far, deputies have not linked those incidents with this one.
