DELTONA, Fla. – Authorities released a woman's hysterical call to 911 after she became the victim of road rage in Deltona.
The woman said the driver nearly ran her off the road, then backed over the front of her car at a stop sign -- all because she tried to pass him.
The ordeal ended at Captain Drive and Courtland Boulevard, as Aubrey Hulce was driving home from work late Friday night.
"I don't know why anyone would do this to somebody. I don't get it," she said. "I just keep asking myself why he would do that."
She admits she was in a rush to get home when she got behind a slow-moving pick-up truck.
On an emotional 911 call, she told the dispatcher, "He was going really, really, really slow on this road and it was a passing lane so I tried to pass him."
That's when she said the driver side-swiped her car and nearly ran her off the road.
Deputies said the man behind the wheel was Kyle Puryear, 24, of Deltona, who already has a criminal record and was on probation at the time.
Hulce said she followed the truck to get the tag number, but when they stopped at the intersection, she realized she was in danger.
Hulce: "He hit the side of me and then I stopped at a stop sign and he backed up into me, and then he ran over the front of my car.
Dispatcher: "It's alright. Take a deep breath. Take a deep breath, okay?"
The front of her car still shows damage where she claims the back of the truck lunged toward her windshield, blocking her in with no place to go.
"It's scary, and I'm upset that somebody would try to hurt me for no reason, and I don't even know him," Hulce said. "Hopefully he never does this to anybody again because I have never felt so helpless."
The suspect's brother, Dalton Puryear, denies all the allegations and said, "There are no scratches on the truck. There are no dents on the truck. This happened at one or 1:30 at night and my brother was in DeBary by 12:30, and we have two witnesses to prove that."
What Hulce didn't know at the time, deputies said Puryear was armed with a gun, in violation of the terms of his probation.
His brother also denies he had a gun.
