Man charged with attempted murder in New Smyrna Beach shooting

Jason M. Manley, 44, charged with attempted felony murder

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – A man was arrested Sunday after officials said he shot at another man at a home at 2803 Glenwood Ave.

Police were called to the home around 11:25 a.m., but when they arrived the shooting suspect, Jason M. Manley, 44, had left the residence.

Officials said a short time later Manley's vehicle was located. Manley was then apprehended by Volusia County deputies in South Daytona.

Manley is charged with attempted felony murder, aggravated assault and fleeing and eluding police.

Officials said the victim, Nathan Wirth, 22, was not injured.
