Man creates survival guide for dads at Disney

'Ears of Steel: A Real Man's Guide to Disney World' showcases dad-friendly events

ORLANDO, Fla. – When you think about Disney, you probably think of princesses and Mickey Mouse.  But one self-proclaimed "manly man" wants the guys to know there is plenty for them, too.

Bart Scott tells Local 6 he combined his two passions, writing and Disney, to create "Ears of Steel:  A Real Man's Guide to Disney World."

Local 6 chatted with Scott via Skype.

"Here I was, in my mid-30s, and especially before I had kids, when you say you're going to Disney, you kind of get that look."

In Scott's book, he reveals his top hidden gems, including great fishing and the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

"You can take a car out on an open track and not worry about the sheriff hiding behind a billboard."

Another must do?  Eating and drinking around Epcot's World Showcase.

Scott says the biggest mistake he hears is guest obsessing over prices.

"I've never regretted a dime I've spent there and I'm looking to spend more.  You can't do it all so don't even try.  Make a list of what you want to do and work in breaks."
