WEST PARK, Fla. – Local 6 news partner WPLG in Miami is reporting that a man who authorities say set fire to his ex-fiance's psychic shop in West Park on Sunday has died from his burns.

The Broward Sheriff's Office identified the man on Tuesday as 19-year-old Luis Evans.

Fire Rescue was able to contain the damage to one of the two commercial units in the building at 5716 W. Hallandale Beach Boulevard. on Sunday. An arson detection dog found the presence of accelerants in the building.

A sheriff's office statement says investigators took samples from the rubble and discovered evidence at the scene indicating someone was likely burned in the fire.

They later found out that 26-year-old Jennifer Tanner had received a phone call from a friend telling her that Evans had been severely burned. He was taken to the hospital in Miami where he died Monday.
