Man dies in wreck on Interstate 95 in Brevard

Troopers say front of 26-year-old man's vehicle struck pole, caught on fire

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A 26-year-old man is dead after an accident on Interstate 95 in Titusville, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The man's 2008 Mazda was traveling southbound on I-95 around 7 p.m. Wednesday when for some reason, troopers said he lost control of his van and left the roadway.

Troopers said the front of the Mazda struck a pole of a mobile electronic billboard and then caught on fire.

The man was trapped inside his vehicle and died in the crash, according to FHP.

All southbound lanes of I-95 were closed after the crash. The inside lane reopened later Wednesday night.

The man has not yet been identified. Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
