DELTONA, Fla. – A man who escaped from Volusia County deputies after being arrested Tuesday night was found approximately 40 minutes later.
Volusia County deputies pulled the man over after Seminole County deputies requested their help in a theft case at a Sanford Walmart.

A spokesperson with VCSO said after making the traffic stop in the area of West Covington in Deltona, the man was found to be a convicted felon. While searching his car, deputies found ammunition.
The man was placed under arrest and handcuffed, but somehow managed to get away. Deputies searched for the man by helicopter and on the ground.
When deputies found the man he was not more than 100 yards from the original traffic stop location.
The man was taken into custody and charges are pending.
