Man fatally shot while holding baby identified

Victim's landlord booked into Lake County Jail

TAVARES, Fla. – Lake County sheriff's deputies are investigating a fatal shooting in what they say was an ongoing dispute between a landlord and a tenant.

According to Lake County jail officials, 46-year-old Pablo Infante was booked into jail shortly before midnight. He faces first-degree homicide charges in the death of 47-year-old Jeffrey Allen Henrickson.

Both men were believed to live in separate homes on the same piece of land off Discovery Road in Tavares, said detectives, who investigated the scene after the 6 p.m. Wednesday night shooting.

Sources told Local 6 that Henrickson was holding a baby when he tried to run from Infante, his landlord, near the house he rented. That's when the first shot was allegedly fired, hitting Henrickson in the back, according to sources. Once he reached a white van, he was apparently shot in the neck, fell to the ground, then shot a third time in the side of the head, sources said.

Sources told Local 6 the baby was unharmed.

Evidence markers dotted the ground as homicide detectives looked for clues Wednesday night.

Henrickson was rushed to Waterman Hospital in Tavares and later was pronounced dead.
