ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – Police continue to search for an assailant after a man and woman were shot Wednesday night at an inn in Altamonte Springs.
William Naylor, 33, was shot around 10:30 p.m. at America's Best Inn and Suites at 235 Wymore Road.
Police say the shooting may have begun as a robbery attempt when a man wearing black clothing shot another man in the parking lot. It is believed that up to four shots were fired.
The victim was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Witnesses said they saw a woman, who they believed was shot in the leg, flee the scene. Detectives later located her when she showed up at Florida Hospital Altamonte seeking help for a gunshot wound to her leg.
Her name has not yet been released.
Police said the shootings were not a random act of violence.
A detailed description of the gunman was not known, but police said he is considered armed and dangerous.
