Man killed in head-on Orange County crash identified

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 43-year-old Kissimmee man was killed and another driver was critically injured Thursday night in a head-on crash in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The FHP said George Silva died in the crash, which occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Boggy Creek Road near Wetherbee Road.

According to troopers, Steven White, 32, of Longwood, was driving a Dodge Stratus southbound on Boggy Creek Road when he veered into oncoming traffic and struck Silva's Mitsubishi 3000 GT.

Silva, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.  White, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with critical injuries, the FHP said.

Charges are pending, the FHP said.
