Man known as 'Hello Kitty' arrested in attempted rape at IHOP, Orlando police say

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police arrested on Wednesday the man known as "Hello Kitty" after police say he tried to rape a woman in the parking lot of an Orlando IHOP.

Edgar Collazo, 24, turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday after police say he exposed his genitals, performed a lewd act and then tried to rape a 20-year-old woman in the parking lot of the IHOP at 647 East Colonial Drive at around 3:40 a.m. Monday.

Police also said Collazo forced himself on top of the woman in an attempt to rape her before driving away.

Collazo, who police say garnered his nickname because of a "Hello Kitty" tattoo on his upper arm, is charged with false imprisonment, exposure of sexual organs, attempted sexual battery with a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm.

He was booked into the Orange County Jail just before 1 p.m. and was released just after 2 p.m on $14,500 bond.
