ORLANDO, Fla. - Jeffrey McCoy, 24, is behind bars tonight after taking deputies on a police chase through Osceola and Orange counties, they said.

The chase first started near Landstreet and Orange Blossom Trail earlier today.

Sgt. Angelo Nieves, with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, said deputies from the Osceola County Sheriff's Office were trying to arrest McCoy, who had a felony warrant for grand theft. Orange County deputies were called to assist, and during that encounter, McCoy tried to drive away, Nieves said.

A chase ensued, and McCoy ended up crashing into at least four vehicles, Nieves said. Nieves said McCoy also tried to run over three deputies.

He is now facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and evading and eluding.

He is now in custody and is being treated at a hospital for minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
