Man pistol-whipped, stabbed in Orlando robbery; 3 gunmen sought

Orange County deputies say trio also responsible for 2nd robbery

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County deputies are searching for three gunmen in two separate robberies, one in which a man was pistol-whipped and stabbed.

The attack occurred early Wednesday at the Waterview Apartments off Orange Blossom Trail near Americana Boulevard in Orlando.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, deputies were talking to the victim of the second robbery when a car came barreling toward them, forcing them to dive out of the way.  The deputies caught up to the driver, who was frantically trying to get the victim of the first robbery to a hospital, according to officials.

In the first robbery, deputies said a black man in his 20s was pistol-whipped and stabbed.  The man suffered critical injuries, said deputies, who later added that the man was in stable condition at a hospital.

Deputies said the same trio was responsible in both robberies.

"They're definitely considered armed and dangerous," Orange County sheriff's Lt. Paul Hopkins said.  "They have guns and knives and it's obvious they weren't afraid to use them, so we're going to do what we can to get them off the street."

A detailed description of the robbers was not released.
