No gun seen during robbery

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police have arrested the man accused of robbing a Publix Saturday.

The robbery was reported at 4:07 p.m. Saturday at 4606 S. Kirkman Road.

Orlando police said a man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses passed a note to the customer service cashier demanding all the money from the register. Police said the note also said the man would start shooting if his demands were not met.

A man is wanted in connection with a robbery at a Publix in Orlando.

The man kept his hands in his pockets and no gun was displayed or seen, police said.

The cashier complied, and the man ran away with the cash, police said.

Police released a surveillance photo of the man.

After releasing photos of the man, Orlando police said they received a few Crimeline tips naming Joshua Frey as the suspect in the robbery.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office arrested Frey during a traffic stop Thursday, Orlando police said. Frey and his girlfriend were taken to Orlando police headquarters for interviews.

Police said after the interviews and a follow-up investigation, officers found probable cause to charge Frey with a commercial burglary for the Publix incident, as well as for an additional burglary that took place at an antique shop Wednesday.

Authorities are also investigating other cases they believe Frey may have been involved in, police said.
