Man sentenced to 7 years in College Park burglaries, dog's death, police say
Man must also pay victims for damage, court costs
The man charged in a string of College Park burglaries earlier this year, one resulting in a family's dog being killed, has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Orlando Police Department said Leonardo Turull, 22, must also pay the victims for the damage and court costs as part of his Thursday sentencing.
Turull originally was arrested on Feb. 18 and charged with three counts of burglary to a dwelling. The state attorney's office later added the charge of cruelty to animals for the death of Wilson the dog.
He pleaded no contest to all charges in court
The burglaries that Turull is believed to be involved in occurred in January in the area of King Street and Fairway Lane, police said.
