Man accused of fatally shooting ex's boyfriend remains on run, police say

Cops: Suspect fled in white Hyundai after shooting

LEESBURG, Fla. – A Leesburg man has died after being shot by his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, police said.

Police were called to a home on Willow Drive  at 9:15 a.m. Sunday for a domestic-related shooting, officers said.

When police arrived, they found Fredrick Thomas, 26, injured. Thomas was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries, police said. 

Officer's said Jeremy Harrison, 25, an ex-boyfriend of the woman the victim was dating, fled from the home in a white Hyundai immediately after the shooting.

Leesburg police said they are still searching for Harrison and believe the vehicle he fled in looks similar to the one pictured above. The vehicle was found Monday and impounded.
