PLYMOUTH, Fla. -

Orange County deputies are trying to find the man who shot and killed a Plymouth man on Friday, and then stole his truck and drove off.

Deputies said a Marcus Hicks, 39, was arriving home around 2 p.m. along the 1000 block of Monk Avenue in Plymouth when another man forced him, his girlfriend and child out of their truck at gunpoint.

Hicks' girlfriend told investigators the man then shot Hicks before taking off in their white Escalade truck.

Deputies said Hicks was shot in the chest and immediately taken to Florida Hospital Apopka, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators found the truck about 3 miles away from the shooting in the 1900 block of Boy Scout Road. The suspect had gotten away.

Authorities described the suspect as a black male who is 5 foot 7 inches tall with a thin build. Police said he was wearing a mask.

Homicide detectives said they didn't believe this was a random act.
