DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A man was struck in the hand by gunfire while with friends near Joe Harris Park and Bethune Cookman University early Sunday, officials said.
Officers who arrived at the area after receiving reports of shots fired around 12:17 a.m. found several .357-caliber bullet casings in the street in the 500 block of Mcleod Boulevard.

The victim, Nathan Cogman, told detectives he heard the gunshots and ran with his friends. He then felt pain in his hand and realized he was shot, so his friends drove him to Halifax Hospital.
Officials said there is no description of the shooter.
