Man surprises woman with wedding before childbirth

Baby born 30 minutes after wedding

FORT WORTH, Texas – Brandi Anderson was about to deliver a baby girl, but her boyfriend said he had to "run to the store."

Little did she know, it was all part of James Anderson's plan to throw a surprise wedding before she had the baby.

Before James Anderson left the hospital to go ring shopping, he concocted the plan with the nurses at North Hills Hospital in Forth Worth.

"The dad came out and told us that he wanted to get married," Ashleigh Campbell, a nurse, told KTVT. "At first, we didn't think he meant now."

"I just couldn't shake the idea of [Brandi] having the baby without the ring on her finger," Anderson said.

While Anderson chose the ring, Campbell called her father, who is a preacher.

As Brandi Anderson's water broke, her soon-to-be husband returned with the ring. By that time, the nurses at North Hills Hospital had decorated a room for the ceremony.

"All these people started walking in," Brandi Anderson told KTVT. "I was like 'Who is that guy?' and [James] was like 'That's the minister.'"

With the couple's 6-year-old son acting as the ring bearer, James and Brandi Anderson got married.

Just 30 minutes into the couple's "honeymoon," their baby girl Janelle was born.
