Man, teen rescued from Indian River

2 taken to Brevard hospital

A 24-year-old man and 16-year-old boy were rescued from the Indian River near Haulover Canal after being in the water for more than four hours.

Officials said the two were on a raft and tube when they lost their way shortly after getting on the river around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Members of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, U.S. Coast Guard and Brevard County Sheriff's Office began searching for the man and teen after family members alerted authorities.

The man and teen were taken to Parrish Medical Center, where they were treated for hypothermia.
