Man charged with aggravated assault, battery

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police arrested a man whom they say threatened his mother with a machete in an argument about his grandmother.

Kevin Bolden was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery in the Tuesday incident.

According to police, Bolden grabbed the machete and threatened his mother over the health of his grandmother, who is in the hospital.

Police said Bolden yelled at his mother that she gave his grandmother too much sugar, then grabbed a 2-foot machete and threatened her.

"He also went in there and got a d*** machete because he got mad because I said the stuff that he gave her made her upchuck," the mother told dispatchers in the 911 call.

Bolden was booked into the Volusia County jail.
