LONGWOOD, Fla. – A man wearing dark clothes attempted to abduct a 14-year-old boy who was jogging with a friend in Longwood.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Sunday on Longwood Street near Orange Avenue.
According to Longwood police, two 14-year-olds were running together when a man jumped out of a wooded area and grabbed one of the boys and tried to drag him into the woods.
The other teen helped his friend escape, and the boys ran off and contacted authorities, police said.
A search failed to find the assailant, who police only described as a white or Hispanic man wearing dark clothing.
An investigation is ongoing.
