Authorities seek man in 2 Palm Bay robberies

CVS, Winn-Dixie liquor store robbed on consecutive days

PALM BAY, Fla. – Palm Bay police are searching for a man in connection with two robberies in which they say he implied he had a gun.

The first robbery was reported at 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the CVS at 1599 Palm Bay Road.

Police told News 6  that the man stole cash from the store.

The second case was reported at 2:10 p.m. Sunday at the Winn-Dixie liquor store at 5270 Babcock St.

Police said the man also tried stealing cash from the liquor store, but unlike the day before at CVS, the clerk refused to give him anything.

Police said the man wore a yellow hat in both robberies.

Police said surveillance video did not show a gun displayed, but the man should still be considered armed and dangerous.

"He was implying to the clerks that he had a firearm," said Palm Bay Police Lt. Mike Bandish.

No injuries were reported in either robbery.

"We are focused on doing everything we can to support our team and are working closely with the Palm Bay Police Department as (it completes the) investigation," said Eddie Garcia, regional vice president of Winn-Dixie. "The safety of our customers and associates is our top priority and we thank the Palm Bay Police Department for their swift response."

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
