ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -

A man found hiding in his bathroom was arrested early Monday on suspicion of attacking a Seminole County Sheriff's deputy during a traffic stop.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said the driver was pulled over in the McDonald's parking lot on State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs after he was spotted weaving between lanes.

The driver, whose name has not been released, failed a field sobriety test, according to the Sheriff's Office, which said the man then pushed a deputy to the ground before getting back into his car and driving off.

The deputy had the man's license and tag number, and several law enforcement officers went to the man's apartment and found him hiding in his bathroom, officials aid.

According to deputies, the man claimed he wasn't involved in the incident and had been home sleeping.

The deputy was not injured.
