Man with tattooed face uses money to try to lure girl, deputies say

Flagler County deputies search for man

PALM COAST, Fla. – A man tried to lure a 9-year-old girl from her yard in Flagler County by offering her $20 to help him find any "good hiding places" in a nearby wooded area, officials said.

The incident was reported just after 7 p.m. Monday on Peppercorn Lane in Palm Coast.

Flagler County sheriff's deputies said the girl and an 11-year-old were playing outside when the man approached them. The children ran home and told their father.

"My kids were out playing in the front yard and a gentleman -- I won't even call him a gentleman -- a scumbag tried to lure my daughter into the woods," the girl's father said.

The culprit was described as a white man, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds. He had a black tattoo on his face.

The children were not harmed.

Anyone with information about the man is asked to call authorities.
