ORLANDO, Fla. – A man's body was pulled from a pond early Monday in Orlando after he took his dog on a walk, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
The man, described by deputies as in his 70s, was found dead around 3 a.m. in a retention pond behind his home on Spyglass Street near Colonial Drive.
According to deputies, the man had been missing for about two hours when his son found his father's body in the pond. It's not known how the man got into the water, but officials say he had a history of medical issues.
The son called 911, and rescue officials pulled the body from the retention pond.
Detectives said foul play was not a factor in the death of the man, who they say may have slipped into the water while walking his dog.
No other details, including the man's name, have been released.
