Florida Lottery officials say one of the two winning tickets was purchased at the Sunoco station located at 600 S. Courtenay Parkway in Merritt Island. The lucky Merritt Island winner is Florida's first jackpot winner since joining Mega Millions in May 2013.

The jackpot was the sixth-largest lottery prize in U.S. history, with a lump-sum option of $224 million.

The Merritt Island winner could get a lump sum option of roughly $112 million before taxes. After taxes that's about $74 million dollars.

The winning numbers are: 11, 19, 24, 33 and 51 with a Mega Ball of 7.

The second winning ticket was sold in Maryland.

“We are thrilled to have our first MEGA MILLIONS jackpot winner within the first year of Florida joining the game,” said Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O’Connell. “Beyond the excitement of meeting the winner to award this prize, we are very proud that Florida ticket sales from this jackpot generated $16.9 million in revenue for education programs in the state.”

The jackpot winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. For the one-time, lump-sum cash payment option, the claim must be filed within 60 days after the draw date, officials said.

The retailer will receive a $100,000 bonus commission, according to lottery officials.
