MELBOURNE, Fla. - A Melbourne High junior was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with four hoax emergency calls the past couple weeks, Local 6 news partner Florida Today reports.
One of those false calls triggered an April 22 lockdown that disrupted FCAT testing. Another alleged threat toward the school was received Wednesday morning, and the student was arrested shortly afterward.
"He was not responsible for threats, but he solicited the threats via Twitter," Police Sgt. Sheridan Shelley told Florida Today.
"He solicited a person that is suspected of making previous threats. We are aware of the use of social media to discuss these actions," he said.
The junior will also face discipline through the student code of conduct, said Michelle Irwin, Brevard Public Schools spokeswoman.
