Men propositioning women in Palm Coast

FCSO Needs Help Identifying Suspects

PALM COAST, Fla. – The Flagler County Sheriff's Office said there's no connection between the incidents involving two men targeting women, except that both approach women who are alone.

"It's ridiculous," said Laura Williams, spokesperson for Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

But it was all too real for the women who deputies said were propositioned by two men Wednesday.

"He was fairly aggressive," said Williams.

The first incident happened at the Walmart parking lot at 5 p.m.

"He followed her out to her car and apparently tried to approach her from behind. He attempted to touch her breasts and asked if he could," Williams said.

The woman said no, but deputies said he wouldn't stop harassing her until another customer intervened and scared him away.

"I'm here all the time and take my mom, who's a very senior woman. It's just really terrifying that people can be invading people's space in a very open community," Candace Flannigan said.

Which is why residents on Rae Drive are also concerned.

"It's not safe anymore," Fawn Trinkle said.

Deputies said a man on a motorcycle approached a woman walking her dog around 9:00 p.m., just hours after the first incident.

"He had unzipped his pants, so he had exposed his sexual organ and asked her if she'd like to make a hundred dollars," Williams said.

The woman screamed no, ran home and called authorities.

"It's pretty disgusting because we walk here with kids all the time," Trinkle said.

Investigators now hope the public can help identify the men.

They said the first incident involved a white male, six feet tall, wearing an army-green shirt, white board shorts with a pattern and has a Scottish or Irish accent.

The second suspect they said is a black man, approximately 20 years old, wearing a dark shirt, blue jeans and has a Suzuki-style motorcycle.

"It's really important that if you see anything suspicious that happens to you or someone else, it's very important to report it to law enforcement right away," Williams said.
